About me

I finished my degree in Pattern-cutting (making patterns for clothes) in 2008 and it came to November. I was running a dressmaking business and the work dried up, so I started modelling clothes on the mannequin. I spent about 6 weeks on it creating the clothes in calico which were test garments. I had a dream and in the dream I was on a bus. On the bus, 2 Chinese women came up to me and said “We were so honoured to be on your catwalk show.” I was surprised by what they said to me in my dream. I went to my church and at church they said we need to start a new thing, a new business. And I thought, that is what I have been doing. I have been doing a collection. It’s a new business. The struggle I had was that I did not have enough money to do it. I also had just finished my degree and I did want to work in that area. So I had not enough money for the dream but I also procrastinated. I wondered whether I could do it. Was it possible?

I worked on getting the garments made into real clothes with the actual material. So I got them made. Time passed and I was telling my parents that I couldn’t do it and my dressmaking business wasn’t doing well. In 2019, my parents told me they would help me. I started by writing all my goals down and started looking for fabric. Along the way, that year I was ordering fabric but my business premises was being refurbished that year and I couldn’t work on it as I was busy in dressmaking business. I also couldn’t get the fabric open that I had bought due to the building work dust. A fabric company said they couldn’t supply certain material so I had to ask other companies instead. I am actually still at that stage and will work on it and get it complete by next year I hope. So that is still a work in progress.

Meanwhile, in February 2019 when my parents said they would help me and I was not having much work. I bought a graphics tablet because my husband was going to do the logo for the fashion design company. I started playing around with it and I enjoyed it so much, so I was thinking I could put this onto t-shirts. My husband was also playing around with it too. Just because you get something new and you like to play around with it and actually get used to using it. So I was playing around with it and then the dressmaking business got busy and I stopped thinking so much about it. I tried to do the business as a separate entity with the help of a friend but it failed and I had to close it. After 2 years, I decided in November 2023 that I am having these ideas about what to put onto T shirts and so I started creating them again. These are Christian designs and I hope you enjoy wearing them as much as I had fun creating them.
